How long is the season?
The regular ball season runs from mid to late April, weather permitting, to the end of June.
Practices and games:
U5 & U7 teams are provided with two x 1 hour practice times per week. These practices will be held on either Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday each week.
Practice times will be announced closer to the start of the season and will be based on diamond availability for all age groups.
What equipment does my child need to play at the U5/U7 age divisions?
- Each player should have their own BATTING HELMET. Although we do have some extra helmets available for younger players to share, we recommend players bring/use their own helmet for hygienic reasons.
- Cleats are not required at the U5 or U7 levels. Outdoor running shoes with good foot support are recommended.
- Team bats will be provided by Sedgewick Minor Ball. You do not need to provide your own bat.
Sedgewick Minor Ball Cash Raffle - Annual Fundraiser
Each family of Sedgewick Minor Ball agrees to provide a Fundraising Commitment cheque or E-transfer for our annual cash raffle fundraiser. The quantity and value of tickets each family will be asked to sell is determined on a season-by-season basis. For the 2024 season, the fundraising commitment was 20 tickets x $10/ticket ($200 total).
SMB's Treasurer will collect fundraising commitment monies and team managers will distribute raffle tickets later in the season.
