Coaching Requirements

BASEBALL - Head and Assistant Coaches

1. Submit your coach registration with Sedgewick Minor Ball HERE 
   • Login with your Spordle account, then select COACH - Baseball
2. Complete the Respect In Sport for Activity Leaders online course
   • If you have a valid RIS-AL course certificate from another sporting organization (e.g. hockey, soccer), you may transfer your certificate to Baseball Alberta. Please contact SMB's Registrar for assistance.
3. Provide a Vulnerable Sector Check
   • Email a copy to sedgewickmbregistrar@gmail.com or upload to the 'Documents' section of your Spordle profile
   • VS Checks are valid for 3 years from the date they are issued. 
   • If you have previously provided a VS Check in the past 3 seasons to Sedgewick Minor Ball, you do not need to provide a new one.
   • If you need a new VS Check, Sedgewick Minor Ball will provide you with a letter to take to your local RCMP detachment to assist with obtaining your VS Check free of charge. 
4. Other coaching certifications may be required by Baseball Alberta if your team is planning on entering Provincial competition.

SOFTBALL - Head and Assistant Coaches

1. Submit your coach registration with Sedgewick Minor Ball HERE 
   • Login with your RAMP account, then select Coach/Staff Registration
2. Complete the Respect In Sport for Activity Leaders online course
   • If you have a valid RIS-AL course certificate from another sporting organization (e.g. hockey, soccer), you may transfer your certificate to Softball Alberta. Please contact SMB's Registrar for assistance.
3. Provide a Vulnerable Sector Check
   • Email a copy to sedgewickmbregistrar@gmail.com or upload it to your RAMP profile.
   • VS Checks are valid for 3 years from the date they are issued. 
   • If you have previously provided a VS Check in the past 3 seasons to Sedgewick Minor Ball, you do not need to provide a new one.
   • If you need a new VS Check, Sedgewick Minor Ball will provide you with a letter to take to your local RCMP detachment to assist with obtaining your VS Check free of charge.
